New processor version provides viewing angles in metadata

Figure 1: Viewing zenith (ζ) and azimuth (γ) angles provided in the updated EnMAP metadata.

The viewing angles of a remotely sensed scene (see Fig. 1) are needed for some applications and cannot be easily derived from the other angles provided in EnMAP metadata (namely, scene azimuth angle and off-nadir angles). In the last years several EnMAP users have inquired about the derivation of the viewing angles in EnMAP scenes.

Since processor version V01.05.00, the viewing zenith and azimuth angles are now provided directly in the metadata of EnMAP L1B, L1C and L2A products. The corresponding fields in the metadata are called viewingZenithAngle and viewingAzimuthAngle. For more detailed definitions, please refer to the L1C ATBD (see in particular Secs. 10.3 and 10.4) and the Product Specification Document.

Users requiring the viewing angles for EnMAP scenes processed with a processor version older than V01.05.00 can simply re-order their scenes in EOWEB.
